Founded in 1985, the Seattle Improvised Music Festival (SIMF) is the longest-running festival in the US dedicated entirely to "the music of the moment," bringing together local and visiting artists in an atmosphere of spontaneity, playfulness, and discovery. Most of these artists have never played at SIMF before, and many will be meeting and playing together for the first time.
