ABOUT THE PROGRAM

  • JazzED Black History Month Assembly is a 45-minute-long event.

  • Our Black History Month assembly is intended to be a whole school event and is tailored for students in grades K-5.

  • Students in grades 3-5 receive priority enrollment to our Summer Jazz Foundations camp.

  • JazzED will provide all necessary assembly equipment and materials.

In the Assembly, students learn the historical roots of jazz as a Black American art form, how jazz musicians use music to express feelings, and are introduced to musical instruments.

Thank you so much again for coming out to Hazelwood today! You truly provided an amazing and unique live music experience for our scholars. I’ve been getting so much positive feedback about what a great assembly it was. I hope we can have you back again soon!
