In our Big Band class, students will delve into the rich tradition of large ensemble jazz by performing and studying classic big band repertoire. The class emphasizes ensemble cohesion, improvisation, and individual musicianship, offering both section-specific practice and full-band performances.

Students will strengthen their understanding of jazz harmony, rhythm, and style while learning to blend and respond dynamically within a large group. Whether you're an experienced jazz musician or a newer player, this class provides a collaborative space to refine your skills and deepen your appreciation for the big band tradition. Prior jazz experience is not required.

To help create a balanced ensemble, each section will have a limited number of open spots. Please register your student based on their instrument.
